How to use PhotoSync with a Fritz!Box?

To be able to use PhotoSync with a Fritz!Box, it is best to create an FTP connection in PhotoSync. You can also use an SMB connection, but the Fritz!Box only uses the insecure and slow SMBv1, so you will definitely have faster transfers with FTP. So that you can connect to your Fritz!Box and access a storage medium connected to the Fritz!Box via USB, some preparations in the Fritz!Box administration are necessary:

Please make sure that FTP access to your Fritz!box is allowed at all. To do this, switch to the Fritz!Box Administration in Home > Storage (NAS) and make sure that the option Access via FTP is activated. If you want to allow a connection via the insecure and slow SMB protocol, you should additionally activate the option Access via a network drive (SMB).

If you have connected an USB storage device to the Fritz!Box, you must also activate the option Storage (NAS) active and set the checkmark for the connected USB storage device.

At least one user account should be created in the user settings of the Fritz!Box. There is a default account ftpuser with your Fritz!Box administration password, which you can use instead of a self created account.
