How to view photos on a remote device or service with my phone?
With PhotoSync you cannot only transfer your photos to all the various supported transfer targets of the app, you can also view your photos on your remote devices or services without downloading and storing the photos to is installed on your device. PhotoSync can work as a viewer for all supported targets except the Computer target and the Phone/Tablet target.
Connect to your remote device or service by tapping the red transfer button in PhotoSync. In the target selection that opens please tap on the Receive tab and select the target that you want to connect to, e.g. FTP if you want to browse your WD My Cloud NAS device that you connected using the FTP target in PhotoSync.
PhotoSync browses through the contents of your target and you can change to the folder or album that you want to view. PhotoSync tries to generate thumbnails for all your photos and videos and uses a placeholder image when a thumbnail cannot be generated.
To be able to view your photos and videos instead of selecting the thumbnails for transfer you need to switch into the view mode of PhotoSync. Enter the selection menu for the mode by tapping the button with the two arrows at the left side of your footer toolbar in PhotoSync and choose View to change to view mode.
PhotoSync will slide in a window showing that view mode was activated.
When you now tap on a thumbnail, PhotoSync opens the photo or video in full screen mode like any other viewer does. The top and bottom toolbars of the viewer automatically slide away after some time and hide. You can slide them in again at any time by just tapping somewhere on the photo.
You can change between photos by swiping the screen to the left or the right to view the previous or next photo on your target device or services. When you now tap on a thumbnail, PhotoSync opens the photo or video in full screen mode like any other viewer does.
