How can I pair my Olympus Camera with PhotoSync to transfer photos/videos or enable remote shooting?
After successful configuration you will be able to transfer photos / videos from your Olympus camera to your iPhone / iPad over Wi-Fi. PhotoSync also enables shoot & transfer: Photos & videos are transferred to your iPhone / iPad right after shooting. Optionally also immediate transfer to remote locations (computer, NAS, cloud) can be configured and photo booth support over HDMI & Airplay to a big TV screen is possible.
Requirements
- PhotoSync for iOS 4.3 or higher
- Supported Olmypus cameras
Optional
- For immediate transfer to remote targets like NAS or Cloud connecting to an existing Wi-Fi network or mobile hotspot is required. If your camera does not offer the option to connect to a Wi-Fi network, you can use the cellular connection of your iOS device, while being connected to the Wi-Fi hotspot of your camera.
Step 1
Touch the Wi-F icon in the upper left of the display of your Olympus camera. For some cameras you might also need to activate Wi-Fi in the camera's menu. The camera will create a Wi-Fi hotspot you can connect your iPhone / iPad to. The connection information (Wi-Fi SSID and password) is now displayed. You will need to enter this password on your iPhone / iPad in the next step.
Attention
Some Olympus cameras require that you set the Wi-Fi Connect settings to "Private" under Wi-Fi settings in the camera's menu in order to browse photos/videos.
Step 2
Take your iPhone / iPad, open the system settings and touch Wi-Fi. Select the Olympus (here: E-PL-9-P-BJ0A21497) Wi-Fi network and enter the Wi-Fi password as displayed on your camera screen.
Step 3
Now open PhotoSync, touch the red sync button, touch „Receive“ and select the „Olympus Wi-Fi“ target. After a moment PhotoSync will detect your camera.
Step 4
You can now browse the photos on your camera or shoot & transfer to your iPhone / iPad.
