How to transfer to/from my Windows 10 computer using a personal hotspot with your USB cable?

If your telecommunications provider allows to use the Personal Hotspot on your iOS device, you can use it to transfer between your iOS device and your Windows 10 computer if you have no Wi-Fi network available or if you want to use the higher speed of the USB cable compared to a Wi-Fi connection.

Please note that you must have the iTunes app installed on your Windows computer for your USB cable to be recognised as a network cable.

Enable the Personal Hotspot on your iOS device. You'll find it in the iOS settings under Personal Hotspot or if you did not use it before under Mobile Data > Personal Hotspot.

Enable the Personal Hotspot, change the Wi-Fi Password if you don't want to use the automatically generated password.

Now connect your iOS device with the USB cable to your Windows 10 computer. With the hotspot enabled, the cable works like a network cable and you can transfer between your iOS device and your computer with terrific speeds when you switch to PhotoSync and start a transfer.
